What Are Green Roofs?

Green roofs are vegetated layers that sit on top of specialized tanking waterproofing systems. These products can stand permanent immersion and are a root barrier as well. Typically above the membrane there would be a drainage cell with a geotextile fabric to prevent the soil filling the drains. Whilst green roofs come in many different forms and types, usually a the distinction is made between extensive, intensive and bio diverse or wildlife roofs.

These roofs help promote Ecology, biodiversity and wildlife, Hydrology, storm water, Acoustic performance, Insulating, characteristics and energy.

The systems that are promoted for this application are described as a Anti Root Membrane, typically
